About the role
The Estate Planning Specialist acts as an independent estate planning consultant to members (and non-members), providing education to assist with needs-based assessments. The goal is to help members determine the estate planning documents that align with their goals and long-term financial needs, improving the status of financial estates for beneficiaries or charitable giving recipients. This role does not provide legal advice but assists with completing documents such as revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, LLCs, and deeds. Compliance with Arizona Code of Judicial Administration, including Section 7-208 (Legal Document Preparer) and Section 7-201 (General Requirements), is required.
Responsibilities
- Consult with members to identify estate planning needs and goals, providing education to help them determine suitable products and solutions.
- Educate clients to enable informed decisions about their estate planning needs.
- Develop strategic sales plans within an assigned territory.
- Network and grow a referral base through daily sales calls, community engagement, and educational seminars.
- Attend branch meetings and conduct one-on-one coaching to present Wills and Trusts products and services, enhancing referral quality.
- Keep management and internal staff informed about prospect status, new business opportunities, and referrals.
- Deliver exceptional service through client and internal interactions that prioritize the member’s best interest.
- Ensure timely processing, accurate documentation, and communication with internal and external partners throughout estate planning phases.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Wills and Trusts products and services.
- Attend educational programs to further develop expertise.
- Act as a trainee under the judicial code to obtain Legal Document Preparer (LDP) certification; maintain compliance with Arizona CLDP regulations, including completing Continuing Education (CE) hours annually.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of sales experience in the financial or estate planning industry required.
- Proven success in a sales environment required.
- Ability to present to small and large groups required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
- Certified Legal Document Preparer (CLDP) certification preferred (required upon completion of training period under Arizona LDP code, with timing varying by education level).
- Notary State Certification preferred.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license; motor vehicle record must meet company guidelines.
