Responsibilities

• Shadowing Partner-level attorneys specializing in elder law, special needs planning, estate planning, estate administration, and guardianships.
• Aid a senior attorney focusing on estate litigation and related matters.
• Prepare estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and various trusts.
• Support Medicaid planning, applications, and asset protection strategies.
• Assist with matters involving adults and children with disabilities, seniors, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Engage in Surrogate's Court filings, litigation preparation, and case management.
• Take on more independent work as skills develop.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• Two years of relevant experience preferred, or a newly admitted attorney demonstrating exceptional potential.
• Familiarity with Medicaid eligibility, trust funding, and planning for individuals with special needs.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to approach legal planning with empathy and clarity.
• Interest or experience in alternative dispute resolution is a plus.

Pay

$100,000 to $120,000 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule

Preferred location: Lake Success, NY. Willingness to travel to Brooklyn if necessary.
