Estate Administrator - Private Clients & Fiduciary Services
About the role
Verrill is actively reviewing resumes for an Estate Administrator for our Boston, Massachusetts office. As one of New England’s top full-service law firms, we are interested in hiring talented individuals to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Under attorney supervision, manage the complete administration process of estates, including preparing, reviewing, and maintaining estate documents, reviewing asset valuations, settling outstanding debts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries
- Prepare and file probate documents, such as petitions, inventories, and accountings
- Serve as a primary point of contact for estate-related inquiries from personal representatives and beneficiaries
- Cook up and coordinate the resolution of outstanding debts related to the estate
- Aid in the preparation of estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns
- Maintain meticulous accounting records of estate income, expenses, and distributions
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to provide seamless support to clients and ensure efficient estate administration processes
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in estate administration, preferably within a law firm
- A strong understanding of estate administration, probate laws, and fiduciary responsibilities, along with familiarity with applicable regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and advanced computer skills including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and accounting systems

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. This is Verrill’s good faith estimate of the annual salary for the position at the time of this posting for the indicated location. Final base salary will be determined by several factors including, but not limited to skills, experience, job-related qualifications, and other market factors.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position.
