ESS Terminals Systems Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an ESS Terminals Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading-edge systems engineering and integration for the Space Force’s Space System Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art MILSATCOM systems, delivering secure, global, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. About the role

Work is required to be on-site in a secure facility in El Segundo, CA. Minimal travel is expected, with standard working hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop or manage requirements or Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for complex systems.
• Perform systems engineering tasks such as requirements and technical baseline development, test planning and integration, verification, and validation.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance (desired).
• Master’s degree in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science (desired).
• Experience with MILSATCOM systems, such as AEHF, PTS, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs (desired).
• Experience working with military and DoD civilians (desired).
• Experience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networks (desired).
• Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence) (desired).
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP) (desired).

Pay

The pay range for this position in California is $135,000/year to $169,000/year. Base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
