ESS Cell Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the development and validation of lithium-ion battery cells for ESS applications.
• Analyze battery cell specifications and engineering data to support product quality, performance, and reliability objectives.
• Absorb and maintain battery cell specifications and technical documentation.
• Support prototype builds, testing activities, and performance evaluations.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret laboratory and production test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with research and development projects, including prototype evaluation and product validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
• Investigate quality concerns and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, manufacturing processes, and battery performance.
• Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and fire protection requirements.
• Complete daily documentation and maintain accurate engineering records.
• Follow established work instructions and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience.
• Knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, battery materials, electrochemistry, or analytical instrumentation is preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years of engineering experience, including internship or co-op experience, in battery development, product development, research and development, manufacturing, or a related engineering environment.
• Experience supporting lithium-ion battery products or ESS technologies is preferred but not required.
