Who can participate?
We are looking for 8th grade science teachers who are either:
- currently using OpenSciEd AND are committed to using it through the end of the 2026-27 school year
- committed to using other curriculum (including teacher-designed curricula) AND will not be teaching OpenSciEd through the end of the 2026-27 school year.
What are you committing to?
- Administer student surveys, assessments, and teacher surveys during the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.
- OpenSciEd teachers will participate in:
- In-person professional learning: March 24-27 and July 14-17, 2026
- Virtual monthly PL community meet-ups (PLCs) during the 2026-27 school year
Why participate?
- Contribute to our field’s understanding for how to support meaningful science learning for all students.
- OpenSciEd teachers joining in the 2025-2026 school year will receive:
- $3,000 for participating in the study
- summer and academic year professional learning support
- two kits for implementing OpenSciEd units
- Non-OpenSciEd teachers will receive:
- $2,000 for participating in the study
- the opportunity to participate in OpenSciEd PL after the study’s conclusion
