ESL Tutor

Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top Universities and Colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor, you’ll teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum in 50-minute one-on-one lessons at a set weekly time.

About the role

• Independent contractor position
• Flexible, self-set schedule with consistent weekly slots
• Teach after-school sessions (6–9 AM EST weekdays or weekends)
• Minimum 6-month commitment and 20 hours of weekly availability

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s age and ability
• Update availability in the Cosmo App promptly
• Prepare and deliver lesson materials aligned with K-12 ELA/ESL standards
• Submit Class Feedback after every lesson
• Communicate professionally with parents, students, and Cosmo staff
• Attend all classes on time in a quiet, professional setting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 3 years of K-12 teaching experience in ELA, ESL, or EFL
• TEFL certificate preferred but not required
• Fast, reliable internet and a Windows or Mac PC (minimum 6000 CPU)
• Access to a private, quiet teaching space
• Currently located in the United States or Canada (excluding AK, CA, CO, DE, HI, ME, NH, ND, PR, VT, WV)

Pay

$20 USD per 50-minute class, plus additional incentives.

Schedule

• 6–9 AM EST, Monday through Friday, or weekends
• Minimum 20 hours of availability per week
