ESL Tutor

About the role

Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top Universities and Colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you will teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum in 50-minute one-on-one lessons at a set weekly time. This independent contractor position offers a flexible and consistent schedule that you set, ideal for experienced educators looking to connect with students in an after-school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized one-on-one instruction for students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials tailored to the student's age and ability
• Submit Class Feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 ELA, ESL, or EFL
• Experience with K-12 ELA standards
• TEFL certificate preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection
• Access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
• Available between 6-9 AM EST Monday through Friday or during the weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis
• Access to a private and quiet location
• Passion for helping students learn
• Currently located in the United States or Canada (excluding Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Vermont, and West Virginia)

Pay

$20 USD per class plus additional incentives.

Schedule

• Set your own flexible and consistent schedule
• Available time slots: 6-9 AM EST Monday through Friday or during the weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability per week
