ESL Teacher - Qeqchi

About the Role

Elementary teaching position focused on Dual Language instruction. This role involves teaching in both English and Q’eqchi’ to support bilingual education in the East Aurora school district.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in core subjects (e.g., reading, math, science) using Dual Language methodologies.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district and state standards for bilingual education.
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and community members to support student success.
• Promote cultural awareness and inclusivity in the classroom.

Requirements

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Elementary Education and/or Bilingual/ESL.
• Proficiency in Q’eqchi’ and English, both written and verbal.
• Experience or training in Dual Language or bilingual education preferred.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
