About the role

This is a full time 1.0 FTE position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings to determine student eligibility in program.
  • Review and interpret results.
  • Schedule, plan and instruct students on District and state approved curriculum in classroom and in small groups.
  • Modify, adapt and implement lessons and curriculum to meet individual student's needs and varying levels of English language proficiency.
  • Create and conduct assessments to evaluate progress.
  • Review student progress via assessments, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success and growth.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and students on progress.
  • Meet regularly with other grade level or departmental Teachers and support Teachers to plan, accommodate, implement and assess lessons and progress.
  • Consult, provide advice and in-service to staff on issues relating to ML.
  • Participate on various building and District teams or committees.
  • Provide feedback and act as liaison to other building staff.
  • Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
  • Collaborate with other staff in planning, modifying, enhancing and implementing curriculum and school objectives.
  • Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth.
  • Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and current records required by state and federal requirements.
  • Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment.
  • Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring social and emotional development is progressing normally.
  • Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
  • Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses or conferences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with secondary endorsements in: English as a Second Language (ESL).

Pay

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Position start date: August 2026.
