ESL Teacher

About the role

This position specializes in creating a learning environment tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students who have a foundation in written or spoken language other than English and have hearing loss.

Responsibilities

• Develops individual learning plans (ILP) and individualized lesson plans.
• Adapts materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Employs strategies to ensure all students can participate fully in lessons and activities.

Requirements

• Valid Tennessee teaching license with an ESL endorsement.
• A background in American Sign Language usage and ability to sign.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.

Skills

• Strong communication skills, including both written and signed language.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
