Duties and Responsibilities
- Understands how students learn and provides learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development of diverse learners
- Evaluates student progress and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement.
- Ensures compliance with District requirements.
- Aids in preparing reports to document progress and effectiveness of services.
- Aids in identifying compliance concerns and reporting them to the ESE Coordinator.
- Utilizes the electronic management system to update IEP documents.
- Provides teachers, students, and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement.
- Identifies student issues which need to be addressed and plans strategies that support students with disabilities.
- Collaborates with faculty in the implementation of the IEP.
- Provides teacher support by using modeling, coaching, and other support strategies.
- Partners with the ESE Coordinator to develop behavior plans for ESE students.
- Provides testing support.
- Attends and participates in parent meetings as required; maintains regular contact with parents as required by statute relating to students in special programs.
- Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students' learning and well-being.
- Accepts and incorporates feedback and coaching from administrative staff.
- Actively engages in professional development opportunities.
Employment Schedule
10 months, full-time

- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Possession of or eligibility for valid teaching certification.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check and drug testing.
- Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
