ES&H Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with federal and contractor employees; researchers, site technicians, engineers, and other ES&H professionals.
- Prepare, read, and interpret complex information regarding technical matters.
- Coordinate projects from inception to completion, including review criteria, specifications, calculations, and analysis of information.
- Review programmatic documentation for technical accuracy.
- Support the entry of corrective actions into corrective action tracking systems and ensure remedies are deployed, and testing is developed to verify corrective actions are successful.
- Conduct hazard assessments for various work activities and recommend appropriate mitigations per regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause analyses for occupational injuries and other incidents as requested.
- Provide technical writing reviews, updates, and revisions to directives and manuals.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of methods for tracking changes in operations, processes, databases, and inventories.
- Develop and maintain databases to include training, equipment inventories, audit findings, corrective actions.
- Conduct OSHA-type inspections for facilities and construction areas and prepare an informative report on any findings.
- Present various multi-disciplinary safety training courses in a classroom setting.
- Knowledge/experience with various regulatory programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Working from Elevated Heights, Confined Space Entry, Trenching and Shoring, Hot Work, Personal Protective Equipment, NFPA 70E.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering/Management, Industrial Hygiene or other ES&H-related field and 0-4 years of experience
- A Master's Degree in Safety, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ASP designation considered a plus.
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems considered a plus.
- OSHA 30-hour for Construction considered a plus.
Compensation Details
$58, 936 - $80,752
