About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead technology initiatives supporting Finance and Accounting. In this role, you will coordinate system implementations, integrations, enhancements, conversions, and process-improvement projects involving financial applications and enterprise platforms. You will serve as the connection point between Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, external vendors, and other business stakeholders. Your goal will be to keep projects organized, remove obstacles, manage risks, and ensure system changes are delivered successfully and support the organization's financial and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial-system and ERP projects from planning through implementation and post-launch support.
- Create and maintain project plans, timelines, status reports, risk logs, issue logs, decision logs, and action trackers.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate requirements gathering and document business processes, workflows, and system needs.
- Support SDLC activities, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, defect tracking, change management, and user adoption.
- Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple priorities and ensure project teams remain accountable for deliverables.
Requirements
- 4+ years of project management experience supporting financial systems, ERP platforms, accounting applications, or enterprise business systems.
- Working knowledge of accounting processes, including general ledger, reconciliations, reporting, month-end close, and financial controls.
- Experience managing projects across Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, vendors, and business teams.
- Understanding of SDLC processes, requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and support.
- Strong documentation, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, Planner, or Microsoft Lists.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Background
- Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Lawson, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience with integrations, data conversions, reporting, workflow automation, or system migrations.
- PMP, Scrum Master, Agile, or related certification.
