ERP Change Management Workstream Lead
UM System is seeking a Pillar Lead of Change Management to lead change management functions—communications, readiness, engagement, and training—for the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform for Finance and Human Resources across a large, complex university system.
About the role
Reporting to the ERP Program Director, the Change Management Pillar Lead ensures the University’s readiness for adoption leading up to and through implementation of the new ERP. The project envisions a four-year implementation timeframe for HR and Finance ERP systems, with a potential concurrent Student implementation. The successful candidate will engage leaders across business units, Finance, HR, and other key stakeholders to monitor engagement and foster commitment to adoption. The role supports necessary process changes to ensure the system functions as expected, building consensus and moving stakeholders toward agreement.
Responsibilities
- Leads the university’s change management strategy, planning, and execution for the ERP implementation.
- Defines project communication touch points with various university stakeholders.
- Oversees communication and training programs, ensuring consistent, aligned messaging and design.
- Reports to the ERP Project Management Office and collaborates with management, project teams, and the university community to define and deploy the training strategy.
- Oversees creation and delivery of communication and training materials (webpages, announcements, flyers, brochures) in accordance with university branding and policy.
- Monitors training effectiveness and adjusts strategies as needed.
- Evaluates readiness at key milestones and recommends actions to address gaps.
- Communicates with project leadership, steering committee, project teams, consultants, business process owners, and end-users.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to change management staff, ensuring they support the university effectively.
- Coordinates change management activities across program teams and broader university stakeholders.
- Completes weekly status reports, risk and issue logs, and reports on change progress to governance forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading comprehensive change management programs.
- Experience with ERP implementations, particularly in higher education.
- Strong communication, executive presence, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and influence across the organization.
- Experience managing others and fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated adaptability in fast-paced, evolving, deadline-driven environments.
- Experience in large, complex organizations and navigating ambiguity.
- Expertise in change management for sophisticated ERP systems, including financial management systems.
- Experience with Workday HCM, financial, or student systems.
- Professional certifications or memberships in change management and organizational development.
Pay
$90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
