If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us at info@buckhamgallery.org Buckham Gallery invites you to enter Eros & Thanatos, a national competition established to explore the Greek words for Love and Death. Eros, Greek god of love and sex, and Thanatos, the personification of death, have been used throughout western culture to symbolize the driving forces of life, love, sexuality and creativity as well as acknowledging our own mortality. All styles, media, and interpretations are welcome and encouraged. Founded in 1984, Buckham Fine Arts Project | Buckham Gallery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the vision to support and nurture artists, build community and inclusivity, while challenging our audience to engage with contemporary art in new ways. In commitment to our vision to support artists, Buckham Gallery will provide a stipend of $50 to each artist selected for this exhibition to aid in shipping costs. We acknowledge this may not cover all costs associated with the shipment and return of artwork. Eros & Thanatos Exhibition will be held January 17 - February 15, 2025 at Buckham Gallery, Flint MI. Details Artists must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the USA.Each artist may submit 1- 3 works for $25.Media Specifications: 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artworks welcome. All work must be original in concept, no reproductions.Shipping Stipend: All artists selected for exhibition will receive $50 Submissions must be entered through Buckham Gallery’s website by November 20, 2024.Artists will be notified by December 20, 2024. Shipment Or In-person Drop-Off Artists are responsible for coordinating all packing, shipping and return shipping of their artwork, or in-person drop-off and pick-up.Selected works must be received between January 8 - 11, 2025.Stipend checks will be mailed to artists once the work is received and in good condition at Buckham Gallery.Buckham Arts Collective members are welcome to apply, fee-free, however will not receive the $50 stipend as intended to assist with the shipping of artwork. Sales Artwork may be for sale, though not required to be for sale. Artists set retail prices for their work.Buckham Gallery retains a 35% commission on sold work.
