ER Technician I, PRN, Shift varies

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies on all age groups
• Accurately check and record vital signs, reports any abnormalities to licensed staff
• Performs venipuncture and collects other specimens per policy
• Promptly answer call lights and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner
• Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment and stocking of supplies
• Aware of departmental throughput goals and actively participates in meeting these goals

Qualifications

• Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
• Education/Licensure: Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience: No previous experience required, but preferred.
• Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
