ER TECH/HUC

About the role

The ER Tech/Health Unit Coordinator (ER Tech/HUC) role combines the essential roles of the ER Tech and HUC into one role that will function based upon operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Identify abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and report those findings to the Registered Nurse.
• Coordinate communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies.
• Provide clerical assistance to physicians and staff.
• Provide direction and guidance to patients, families and visitors while promoting a positive patient experience.
• Perform tasks under the oversight of the RN in coordination with other team members.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Licensure/Certification

• Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS CPR certification required prior to completion of orientation.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: Medical terminology

Qualifications

Successful completion of one of the following:

• Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities i.e. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting.
• Currently enrolled in nursing school and completion of at least one clinical rotation.
• EMT Basic

9AM-9:30PM / 36 hours per week / 72 hours per pay period
