ER Tech - Emergency Dept.

Responsibilities

• Collects selected patient information
• Provides directed emergency patient care under the supervision of the RN/LPN
• Stocks supplies
• Cleans patient rooms
• Transports patients
• Aids in maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the department

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Currently enrolled in a nursing or EMT program preferred
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification required

Special Qualifications

• Ability to cope with frequent exposure to unpleasant sights, odors, and challenging patient or family behaviors
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate professionally in a non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and remain calm in stressful or emergency situations

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical and mental health
• Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations
• Must have the physical stamina necessary to perform required job duties in a healthcare environment
