About the role
The Emergency Services Technician offers an excellent opportunity in supporting patient care and covering administrative and clinical procedures. Working in collaboration across a team of practitioners, you will ensure the best possible health care outcomes and patient experiences.
FTE: 0.9, Shift: Nights, Schedule: 12-hour shifts; alternating weekends.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by health care practitioner.
- Engage critical thinking skills in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and aesthetic environment.
- Utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with the team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or successful completion of EMT Training Course.
- MA-P or EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire.
- CNA, NA-R, or EMT will be required to obtain MA-P within a specified date as determined by location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations do not require the MA-P.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three (3) years preferred.

Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. Deaconess provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic, and emergency services.

Pay
The pay scale is $21.77 - $32.58 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
