About the role

The Emergency Technician performs various direct patient care activities in accordance with the Emergency Department policies and procedures under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse. The Emergency Technician is able to assist with the care of hospitalized patients and may be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital/department policies, procedures, and protocols.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Certification level courses (ACLS, BLS, NRP, etc.) as per department specific competencies
• Successful completion of electrocardiographic monitoring program
• Previous experience in hospital/nursing home patient care setting preferred
