Equity Analyst

We are a long-only, multi-billion dollar mid-cap equity fund seeking an experienced analyst to join a small team of generalist investment professionals. Our strategy focuses on rigorous, research-driven investing with a long-term perspective, targeting companies with resilient cash flow streams, attractive reinvestment opportunities, and aligned management teams. The portfolio is concentrated with low turnover.

About the role

Analysts on the team cover multiple sectors and are expected to deeply understand various business models and industry competitive dynamics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• a high degree of intellectual curiosity,
• strong technical skills,
• a self-starter attitude, and
• a proven ability to use primary and secondary data sources to investigate investment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including proprietary forecasts and valuation-based screening capabilities.
• Analyze fundamental performance of companies and industry sectors, sharing investment insights.
• Engage with management teams, consultants, analysts, and industry experts.
• Prepare research reports on companies owned or under consideration for purchase.
• Collaborate with team members to gather data and prepare, update, and maintain internal and external presentation materials.

The research analyst will play a critical role in the research process, contribute to portfolio construction, and take ownership of investment performance.

Requirements

Basic:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research or a related field.
• Excellent quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaborate across teams.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated successful investment track record.
• MBA and/or CFA.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Eligibility for participation in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan and other compensation programs may apply.
