Equipment Trainer

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete and pass the equipment trainer/turret operator training course written exam and hands-on evaluation.
  • Turret, Reach, Dock Truck, Electric Pallet Jack certification required.
  • Ensure the safe handling of equipment at all times.
  • Follow all operating guidelines and safety expectations as they relate to the handling of all equipment.
  • Maintain the minimum KPI standards PPH pallet per hour productivity for the position after a reasonable training time expires.
  • Completes each task physically and systematically in a timely manner and is systematic order.
  • Operates under their assigned sign/log - on in their tasking group at all times.
  • Conduct all equipment operators evaluations.
  • Conduct all operators’ certification training.
  • Completes daily reminders of safety policies & OSHA regulations.
  • Implements monthly OSHA training in all departments and provides accurate records to the office.
  • Facilitates the Safety Committee Meetings twice a month to discuss Safety concerns from each department.
  • Ensures Monthly Harness / Lanyard Inspections are done monthly.
  • Ensures Monthly Fire extinguisher inspections are done monthly by HBI during our monthly audit (when needed).
  • Ensures Monthly Lighting Inspections (check process).
  • Ensures Monthly Fan Inspections are done by HBI during our monthly audit.
  • Baler/Compactor training and certification.
  • Prescreens equipment operators for HRS.
  • Schedule training for Triennial certification.
  • Update Equipment Training Matrix spreadsheet.
  • Send out the Equipment Training Matrix via email to management.
  • Keep data share files up to date.
  • Updates driver documentation and certification card.
  • Record keeping for the day-to-day operation.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the safety training process.
  • PITCO re-certification, near-miss & additional training required by drivers.
  • Replacement of lost certification cards.
  • Weekly (one trainer minimum) Facility safety evaluation: identify opportunities to improve safety in the facility (Stand in the circle exercise).

Qualifications

  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.).
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
  • Certified on all equipment.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to speak in front of others and provide training to others daily and as needed.
  • Trainer certification.
  • Yard spotter certification.
  • Battery changer certification.
  • TSP 6000, SP 3000, RR/RD 5500, RC 3000, FC/FP 4000 SC 3000, PE 4000 certifications.
  • Able to remain in standing position for long periods of time.
  • Minimal bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, climbing and crouching.
  • Able to work in varying facility conditions.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse.
  • Exposure to high levels of noise.
  • Frequent exposure to dust and moving machinery.
  • Exposure to constant vibration from machinery.
  • Electric Pallet Jack, Cherry Picker, Sit/Stand up Forklift, Turret Operator.
  • Computer, printer & scanner.
