Equipment Trainer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical training on Company equipment.
  • Promote, and develop necessary, safe behaviors, work practices and work environments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Support continuing development of Equinox Gold’s safety culture.
  • Act as a resource to fulfill training needs and assist other department personnel with training responsibilities.
  • Attend safety meetings providing employees with updates of training and activities.
  • Track and record training activities.
  • Perform inspections on all equipment as needed to ensure operating and maintenance standards are being met.
  • Aid equipment operators and maintenance personnel when needed.
  • Operate equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • Excellent attitude towards safety
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Working knowledge of mine operations equipment fleets including operating and maintaining such equipment
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • 3-5 years of heavy equipment experience
  • Training experience, preferred
  • Certifications: MSHA Part 48, preferred

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Manual dexterity; handling and grasping; fingering and fine motor skills; speaking clearly; hearing in speech, radio, and environmental ranges; seeing, reading, and comprehension; near and distant vision; depth perception.
  • While performing job responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate effectively and maintain situational awareness in an active mining environment.
  • Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, or working on uneven surfaces.
  • Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, controls, or computer systems is required.

Pay Range

The hourly range for this position is from $33.22 to $44.42, based on experience.
