Equipment Technician Lead
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligible.
About the role
As the Equipment Technician Lead, you will lead temporary and full-time employees in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen and building equipment. You will serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, coordinate with outside vendors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and facilitate work needed to meet applicable codes and standards. In this role, you will also perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of industrial and conventional kitchen appliances and building equipment, helping to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead temporary and full-time employees in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen and building equipment.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Facilitate work needed to meet applicable codes and standards.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial and conventional kitchen appliances and building equipment.
- Respond to emergencies outside normal business hours.
Requirements
- High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate.
- Two years of experience as a journey-level mechanic repairing heavy duty or commercial/industrial equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to respond to an emergency outside normal business hours.
Preferred
- Two years of experience with domestic and/or industrial appliance repair.
- Experience leading or supervising employees.
Pay
Monthly Salary: $5,779 to $6,708 (Range 53G, Steps G - M). Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
