Equipment Technician (Criminal Justice) - Dallas

For almost 30 years, Sentinel Offender Services has provided community-based, offender-funded monitoring services across North America. Working with law enforcement, community corrections agencies, and the court system, we provide customized offender management solutions that help to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success. These solutions combine electronic monitoring technology, alcohol and substance abuse testing, and community-based offender management programs.

Pay

$19.25/hr - $19.50/hr

About the role

The Equipment Installer / Technician is an entry-level position for an Electronic Monitoring, GPS, and Breath Alcohol Testing equipment installer. The installer is primarily responsible for performing equipment installations, removal, and troubleshooting of all equipment, along with daily client scheduling and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove various electronic monitoring equipment as requested using directed safety precautions.
• Provide support for service and maintenance of equipment.
• Keep accurate records of service calls.
• Inspect and maintain all monitoring and testing equipment, including cleaning equipment.
• Process alarms as required during shifts if applicable to program requirements.
• Assist with data entry of activity schedules as required.
• Make telephone calls to participants when needed for equipment or collection purposes.
• Maintain calibration and repair records for all equipment serviced.
• Perform shipping and receiving functions for equipment and supplies per established procedures.
• Diagnose and repair EM equipment as outlined in company procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between Sentinel and/or other contracted agencies, as needed based on duty shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a related field is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills.
• A reliable form of transportation to ensure job attendance.
• Ability to practice time management to meet tight deadlines due to program equipment installation requirements.
• Ability to work flexible work schedules if needed.
• Effective communication with Department Personnel, Judges, Program Participants, and Sentinel personnel.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain an effective and efficient level of service.
• Ability to prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
