About the role
YANMAR America is seeking a Technical Support Representative to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for our Industrial Engine, Construction, Agriculture, and UTV product lines. This position serves as a key technical resource for dealers, OEMs, customers, and internal teams throughout North America.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical support contact for dealers, OEMs, customers, and internal personnel.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide repair recommendations using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, service publications, and company resources.
- Aid dealers with machine diagnostics, maintenance recommendations, and standard repair procedures.
- Use Salesforce CRM and case management tools to document and track technical support cases through resolution.
- Support warranty-related inquiries and assist dealers with warranty procedures and pre-authorization requirements.
- Utilize remote diagnostic and monitoring tools to investigate and resolve equipment issues in the field.
- Cook up dealer visits and technical support activities as needed.
- Support Business Development Managers and Aftermarket Sales teams with technical product knowledge and customer support.
- Build and maintain technical expertise on YANMAR engines, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, UTVs, electronic controls, hydraulic systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Participate in dealer visits, customer visits, trade shows, and product training activities.
- Continuously improve customer service and technical support processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a technical, diagnostic, service, dealership, rental equipment, fleet maintenance, or equipment support role.
- Experience working with diesel engines, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial equipment, heavy-duty trucks, marine equipment, or similar machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment issues.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment such as volt/ohm meters, CAN bus interfaces, OBD diagnostic tools, or similar equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers and dealers.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Qualifications
- Associates degree, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using CRM systems, technical publications, service manuals, and diagnostic software is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay
$44,000 - $56,000 Annual Salary
Schedule
Approximately 10% travel for dealer support, customer visits, training, and industry events.
