About the role
The Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Other job responsibilities may include Point of Care Testing (POCT), performing preventative maintenance, maintaining stock supplies, and equipment inventory.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminates, cleans, and reprocesses equipment.
- Assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly patient/department environment which is in compliance with infection control, safety, OSHA, and other regulatory processes.
- Practices optimal infection control processes both in patient contact and equipment cleaning/maintenance.
- Ensures that supplies, equipment, and instrumentation are available.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and collaborates with HTM.
- Completes special assignments within designated time frames.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No formal education required; high school diploma or GED recommended.
- Entry-level position; experience not required.
Pay
Most new hires start between $15.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is designated as safety-sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. Flu vaccines are required.
