Equipment Specialist (Electronics and Missile).

Duties

• Repair air and missile defense systems and related equipment in accordance with the certified round concept.
• Test samples of manufacturer’s lots of air and missile defense systems.
• Transmit technical data to a central data bank, monitoring for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare reports concerning test findings, maintenance requirements, and reliability exhibited by the air and missile defense systems.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a Tier 3, Noncritical Sensitive- Moderate Risk suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Incumbent is required to be mobile for regular rotational assignments worldwide as the needs of the service dictate.
• Incumbent is required to sign a world wide Mobility agreement.
• Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 35% of the time.
• Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
• Lifting requirement up to 40 lbs.
• This position is for the overnight third shift. The incumbents tour hours may also be subject to change dependent upon schedule demand.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible.
• The position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
• Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
• Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.

• Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
• Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
• Additional information about transcripts is Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Testing diversified manufacturer's lots of air and missile defense systems using automated test equipment; 2) Interpreting test data to determine required maintenance on the missiles tested; 3) Transmitting technical data to a central data bank; and 4) Repairing missiles and related equipment in accordance with the certified round concept.
