About the role
This in-office Equipment Project Manager position in our Tampa, FL Commercial Sales Office focuses on managing all aspects of equipment projects from beginning to end. You will work with a team to accomplish specific objectives within given time frames and available resources, ensuring energy-efficient building solutions for our customers. This role is administrative and financial in nature, involving daily project task management with internal and external customers. Note: This is not a traditional Construction Project Manager position—it does not require travel to job sites or customers.
Schedule
Monday to Thursday: onsite with colleagues. Fridays: flexible work location, balancing work requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs construction schedule review to meet customer requirements.
- Generates ship status reports to provide detail of product lead times and overall project status.
- Coordinates selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services for each project.
- Creates detailed cost estimates.
- Resolves major deviations from scope with the team after Project Scope Validation.
- Maintains the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
- Creates and revises project schedules, including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
- Prepares Trane material and vendor orders; records receipt of materials and approves payments.
- Enters equipment orders and issues purchase orders for vendor orders.
- Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
- Manages project cash-flow: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
- Works with customers, warehouses, and claims to handle freight-damaged equipment or missing freight.
- Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
- Ensures successful transition of warranty to the service process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business management with 3-5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred.
- Working knowledge of all facets of construction, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls.
- Financial management and budgeting background required.
- Experience with Microsoft software, Teams, and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.
Pay
Annual base salary range: $63,111.66 - $87,639.99. This is a salaried position with incentive eligibility. Sales commission is not applicable.
