Description

Under general supervision, provides staff administrative services to Health Care Agency - Public Health departmental management. This position is responsible for coordinating the Maternal Child Adolescent Health program.

Examples Of Duties

  • Maintains departmental budget position control.
  • Develops and controls yearly budgets for Maternal Child Adolescent Health (MCAH), Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) and all existing Federal Financial Participation (FFP) grant budgets associated with MCAH.
  • Maintains quarterly invoicing with HCA Fiscal/Finance Department.
  • Interacts with state contract manager and nursing consultant on budget and contractual issues.
  • Prepares and assembles all required reports and meets deadlines.
  • Carefully coordinates Federal Financial Participation Program, which includes analyzing and maintaining quarterly time studies.
  • Works closely with HCA Fiscal/Finance Department to maintain budget revisions, expenditures, and invoicing, and analyzes budget for future changes.
  • Arranges appropriate training for staff.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and maintains continuing education requirements for Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Compiles routine reports, tabulating, and graphing information from a variety of sources such as files, reports, notes, logs, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Serves as Personnel Officer for the Public Health Department.
  • Chairs the Public Health Personnel Committee Meeting.

Typical Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate may have a combination of an Associates Degree in a related field and/or a minimum of two or more years of responsible administrative and budget/financial experience.
  • Budget monitoring and development experience preferred.

Necessary Special Requirement(s)

  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid California driver license.
