About the role
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Operator - Military Systems located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Operate machinery including Class VII and below forklifts, drive tanks, operate earth moving equipment, hold or obtain Class A CDL w/hazmat endorsement.
- Perform tasks such as welding and/or mechanical skills as needed.
- Adhere to all applicable SOP's and TSRA's.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all applicable SOP's and TSRA's.
- Some travel may be required.
Requirements
- Must have 7 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization.
- Or 3 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area.
- At least 6 years of the 7 years’ experience must include successful completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
- Must have experience operating military equipment.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills
- Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
- New hire will be capable of operating heavy equipment.
- Able to lift 75 pounds.
- Self-motivated and independent thinker with out-of-the-box ideas.
