Equipment Operator Driver I

Thompson Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an Equipment Operator to join a safety-focused team. This role involves executing jobs across all service lines while representing the company and building client relationships. Transitioning military personnel are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Act as a safety representative, ensuring compliance with company and customer safety policies and procedures, including operations, emergency response, and administrative functions.
• Operate manual and automated hydroblasting equipment, Ultra High-Pressure pumps, and other specialized cleaning equipment.
• Energize and operate pumping equipment, vacuum trucks, cutting tools, and chemical cleaning equipment.
• Inspect cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on company equipment in the field.
• Handle duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders.
• Direct a crew of vacuum technicians.
• Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations, including pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and DOT compliance.
• Load and unload hoses, and unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
• Provide general field maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Vocational preparation, including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and relevant experience.
• English proficiency to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A or B required for driving company or personal vehicles on company business.
• Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
• Experience operating vacuum trucks and a working knowledge of wet/dry vacuum equipment.
• Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
