Responsibilities

• Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero‑tolerance safety objectives
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment including front end loaders, dozers, backhoes, ship loader, conveyors, stacker/reclaimer, rail cars, locomotives and other mobile equipment
• Complete and maintain required daily paperwork
• Perform housekeeping duties, including shoveling, washing down of work areas, and keeping offices, restrooms, break rooms and work rooms clean and tidy
• Assist maintenance personnel as needed and directed
• Occasionally work in areas outside of normal duties when instructed by supervision

Requirements

• 1+ year of heavy equipment experience
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card
• Ability to read, write and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
• Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and not have a fear of heights
• Environmental and safety awareness
• Ability to work a rotating (days/nights) 12‑hour shift, including weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary
• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of refinery, plant or industrial experience
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus (military experience may substitute for some requirements)
