About the role

An Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned powered material handling equipment to support all facets of a high-volume distribution center.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules to maintain personal safety and the safety of others, including maintaining clean work areas.
  • Operate electric powered sit-down electric forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and pallet jacks in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Load, unload, retrieve, stack, and store products in a neat, safe, and productive manner.
  • Transport product or supplies to designated areas to support operational needs.
  • Use pallet wrapping machinery, floor scales, RF equipment, automated dock equipment, and company-issued utility knife.
  • Perform Forklift Operator Daily Checklists on assigned equipment.
  • Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to support operations.
  • Work overtime, including weekends, when required.
  • Utilize basic math skills, including counting, adding, and subtracting numbers quickly and accurately.

Requirements

  • Experience in the safe operation of powered industrial trucks in a warehouse preferred.
  • Must pass the ReaderLink Powered Industrial Truck Safety and Certification training course to obtain a license valid for three years.
  • Basic computer skills with WMS, RF, and scanning experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to repetitively reach up and out.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 25 pounds repeatedly and occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive foot movement.
