About the role

This position is responsible for the completion and quality of jobs assigned by Supervisor and/or Crew Leader, as well as for the maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and tools as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists Crew Leader in supervising and works with crew on jobs assigned.
• Safety checks each piece of equipment before starting job.
• Uses pick, shovel, and/or other hand tools according to the requirements of the job at hand.
• Operates various types of equipment as required.
• Maintains and accounts for all tools, equipment, and fleet used.
• Keeps all work sites neat and orderly.
• Completes daily reports.
• Affords general upkeep of Utility buildings and grounds on a regular basis.
• Maintains a good driving record.
• Follows safety practices and guidelines at all times, including wearing proper personal protective/safety equipment due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, flammable liquids, biological hazards, toxic/flammable compressed gases and confined spaces.
• Follows established work procedures and practices.
• Affords any reasonable request within capabilities that is good for the community and the Utility.
• Affords assistance in scheduling work including coordination with homeowners and contractors.
• Affords the Crew Leader role in their absence.
• Undertakes any reasonable request within capabilities that is good for the community and the Utility.

Qualifications

• Minimum (required) High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer two years of experience in the maintenance and operation of construction and/or cleaning equipment.
• Obtain and maintain airport access as required.

• This position has been evaluated as to whether a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to the employee, coworkers, or the public. If the designation is yes, the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA) of 2016 will govern working conditions. If no, the AMMA will not apply to the position.
