The Equipment Operator operates a variety of equipment in a warehouse environment under general supervision. The position requires a basic understanding of cGMPs and equipment safety.
Responsibilities
- Follow all maintenance and safety procedures
- Promote a safe work environment through personal actions
- Identify and report safety concerns
- Load and unload trailers, scan merchandise, build pallets, and label merchandise
- Replenish and stock merchandise as needed
- Perform manual, computer, or RF functions to enter data in systems
- Perform count of product and reconcile (count cycle)
- Check for accuracy and proper placement of product in designated zones
- Direct product to correct areas in the warehouse
- Move product safely using motorized equipment such as forklifts and pallet riders
- Clear work area of loose wood and plastic
- Sweep work area as needed
- Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift heavy boxes
- Ability to follow instructions and take directions
- Ability to perform tasks consistently and accurately
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math and computer operations
- Attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
Experience Requirements
- One (1) year experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Equipment Knowledge
- Operate a forklift
- Ability to become forklift certified
- Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment according to procedure
Judgment/Reasoning Ability
- Able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy
- Able to use judgment and reasoning skills to determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner
Physical Demands
- Regularly talk and hear
- Frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop, and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift or move materials and products up to 60 pounds
- Proper lifting techniques required
Work Environment
- Hectic, fast-paced with multi-level distractions
- May require wearing safety equipment
- May be required to wear company uniform and closed-toe shoes
- May be required to work extended hours as needed
