About the role

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role as an Equipment Operator 2 within the Division of Forestry, headquartered at Tar Hollow State Forest in Vinton County (50874 Clark Hollow Rd., Londonderry, OH 45647). Responsibilities

• Operates heavy motorized equipment to complete a variety of construction & maintenance functions.
• Performs wildfire support (e.g., forest fire line construction, trails, culverts, roads & bridges).
• Performs general maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/grounds maintenance.
• Assists with wildfire suppression (e.g., wildfire & prescribed fire support).

Requirements

• Must successfully complete the Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190) during the probation period.
