Equipment Operator (1st Shift)

About the role

Taylor Corporation is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the team at Travel Tags, a Taylor Company. This role operates and manages advanced packaging machinery, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage complex packaging machinery, ensuring efficient operation and minimal downtime.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance teams as necessary.
• Optimize machinery settings to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on machinery operation, safety protocols, best practices, and quality expectations.
• Lead team efforts to achieve production goals, ensuring all members are aligned and informed.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and suggestions from team members.
• Provide detailed reports to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager regarding equipment performance, production outcomes, and any operational challenges.
• Maintain comprehensive records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production metrics.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, including DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all departmental and company procedures.
• Ensure all team members utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Maintain accurate data entry for time keeping, job costing, and MRP job tracking.
• Ability to setup of equipment for new products and the most complex projects.
• Materials management – request materials required to maintain productivity.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for department equipment, processes, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and technical skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects as required.
• Willingness to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position.
• Frequent movement inside the facility.
• Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry).

Skills

• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Prior experience in a production related environment.
• Prior experience in the print industry.

Pay

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20 – $23. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Schedule

Your Shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday
