About the Role

Altec mechanics are at the forefront of the industry, providing service in state-of-the-art company service vehicles. You'll interact with customers and enjoy a flexible schedule while being part of a diverse team across 45+ service centers and a global network of mobile technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Utilize all technical support resources in troubleshooting, determining procedures, and identifying parts needed for repair
  • Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
  • Advise supervisors of situations impacting customer relationships
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with Altec Safety practices and procedures
  • Support customers by working overtime as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, construction, mining, farm equipment, military heavy equipment, aircraft and aerospace, or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE)
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on heavy equipment
  • Education in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Physical ability to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to support customers by working overtime
  • Ability to advocate for safety in everything we do

Qualifications

  • Ability to drive motor vehicles
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
