Responsibilities
- Performing routine equipment checks and maintenance at customer site including annual inspections and individual site support as needed.
- Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by managing and scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, pumps and conveyor systems, robots, etc.
- Working with original equipment manufacturer and technical literature to develop and set up preventive, systematic and predictive maintenance and critical spares.
- Insuring maintenance tasks are performed promptly and on-time including, inspecting drives, motors and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, etc.
- Understanding and owning reliability metrics and machine performances including, uptime, MTBF, PM% completion, etc.
- Applying and proposing actions to improve 5S activities to remove waste and non-value activities to improve organizations ability to meet company and customer requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and/or longer life.
- Writing and updating safe operating procedures.
- Complying with established internal and external safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Identifying, reporting and correcting at risk situations.
- Managing up to 5 direct reports, controlling downtime by informing Support Specialist by managing work orders and assignments.
- Communicating with Equipment Readiness Manager on equipment needs, commissioning and decommissioning of HarbisonWalker Internationals equipment and facilitating the movement of the equipment within the region.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate a jib crane and ensure the rigging of the load is correct.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to safely operate various hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to read, understand and work in conformity with work orders, as directed.
- Ability to detect and correct unsafe or hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment.
- Organized individual with emphasis on quality and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Requires fundamental Microsoft Office skills including Excel.
- Requires ability to read drawing, schematics and blueprints.
- Requires interpersonal skills in dealing with coworkers, contractors and vendors.
- Requires knowledge of diesel engine maintenance, hydraulic motors, pumps and relays, certification a plus.
- Requires ability to operate hydraulic driven, air driven and electric driven mixers, pumps and guns.
- Requires basic electrical skills.
- A strong track record of maintaining technical competency and remaining current in technology and changes in the industry.
- Four (4) – six (6) years of experience servicing machinery (automotive, agriculture, industrial equipment), including experience with diesel engines, hydraulics and electronics required.
Physical And Environmental Requirements
- Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time reaching, using hands/fingers to handle and/or feel, speaking/hearing; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing, walking, climbing/balancing, stooping/ kneeling/ crouching/crawling.
- Lifting: Requires lifting up to 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of time; lifting more than 100 pounds less than 1/3 of time.
- Vision: Requires accurate close, distance, peripheral and color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Environment: Requires working near moving mechanical parts 2/3 of time; 1/3 to 2/3 of time working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and/or vibration; less than 1/3 of time in an office setting, exposed to wet/humid conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, radiation.
- Noise: Requires exposure to very loud noise (over 85 decibels).
