Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain various wafer processing tools as directed by management, equipment engineers, and senior technicians.
- Run equipment to validate corrective actions were successful.
- Coordinate/reactive and scheduled preventive maintenance on various wafer and assembly processing tools to maintain optimal uptime.
- Support all support equipment such as pumps, power supplies, and gas cabinets.
- Track, record, and communicate progress of maintenance work being performed on Fab, Back End, and Assembly equipment.
- Train and mentor new team members.
- Work independently and in a team environment when required.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to repair common failures.
- Aid senior technicians and engineers in data collection to resolve reoccurring equipment issues.
- Utilize available training materials, aids, and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.
- Participate in team meetings for continuous improvements.
- Absenteeism as required for vendor offsite training.
- Be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Collaborate with Process Engineering, Facilities, Test Engineering, and other departments.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with EES Manager and EES Engineers/Technicians.
- Provide timely updates/communications on Equipment status to Management and Camstar System.

Education & Experience
- Preferred: Military Electronics certification or AS technical degree in electronics.
- Minimum 2+ years experience maintaining wafer processing equipment.
- Prior knowledge in multiple of the following equipment: Cleaving, Stacking/Unstacking, Riber 412 Passivation, E-Beam Coating, and FiconTEC UMB Testing systems.
- Plasmatherm LAPECVD, Matrix Asher, Lam rainbow, Oxford ICP, KLA/SPTS ICP, RENA Semi Auto Wet System, and TEL Mark Vz, ACT 8 photo tracks.
Skills
- Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, computers, and Testing.
- Basic computer skills and software programs (i.e. Microsoft products).
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause and effect diagrams.
- Ability to set up, operate, and interpret output of test equipment to include, but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt-ohm meters, current and voltage sources, and chart recorders.
- Ability to learn and adhere to established company and departmental policies pertaining to day-to-day operations.
- Able to troubleshoot intermediate issues with little to no guidance.
- Initial responder for unscheduled down tools.
- Understand and follow both written procedures and verbal instructions, in the preventive maintenance of wafer fab equipment.
- Effective communication both verbally and written with internal customers.
- Has a basic understanding of processes being ran on tool sets to interface with process team.
- Able to mentor junior team members.
- Working knowledge in experience with robotic handling systems and automated material transfer equipment.
- Servo motors, linear stages, sensors, and interlocks.
- Familiarity with automated loading and unloading processes.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems and process chambers, temperature control systems, gas delivery systems, process monitoring equipment, deposition processes, cooling water systems, power supplies, optical alignment stages, laser and detector interfaces, automated test sequences, system calibration, and troubleshooting activities.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a Class 100/1000 clean room.
- Must wear full clean room attire.
- Must work with and/or around chemicals such as acids and solids.
- Must work with and/or around gases, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Must stand for up to 10 hours at a time.
- Must lift 50 pounds or push/pull up to 150 pounds.
- Must be flexible to work a compressed shift (alternate between 3 and 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts weekly) or Monday – Friday 9.5 hours shifts and when needed.
- Must be able to pass and maintain an ERT clearance through periodic physicals.
