Equipment Engineering Technician, Diffusion/EPI

About the role

This position is responsible for performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on tool sets within the Diffusion Area. These tool sets include ASM A400 Vertical Furnaces, Poly Flow Tube Washers, and various types of Dry Pumps and Exhaust Abatement systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment in the area and be familiar with issues.
• Create and modify procedures and PM specifications as needed to improve tool availability or enhance training of other technicians.
• Order consumable and non-consumable parts for tools as assigned.
• Troubleshoot minor and complex tool issues to resolution.
• Use SPC to troubleshoot issues or determine the health of tools in the area.
• Maintain a clean working area during repairs and PMs.

Requirements

• AS degree in electronics or mechanical.
• 5+ years experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Equipment Maintenance on the Diffusion Area Tools, ASM furnace, or AMAT EPI Systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Office products and various OS platforms.
• Understanding of consumable and non-consumable parts costs and ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities without affecting tool or product performance.
• Basic knowledge of SPC and its use in the manufacturing environment.
