About the Role

Join a team of 45+ service centers and a broad network of mobile technicians providing on-demand technical support, direct parts, and engineering for Altec equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Utilize technical support resources (e.g., operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, HowFactory) for troubleshooting, determining procedures, and identifying parts needed for repair.
  • Perform Unit Condition Inspections and Reports.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Perform all tasks in alignment with Altec Safety practices and procedures.
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships.
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents.
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to move objects and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
  • High level of dexterity.
  • Ability to provide basic tools per the Altec tool policy.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive motor vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to advocating safety in all tasks.

Qualifications

  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction, mining, or farm equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, dozers, tractors).
  • Military heavy equipment experience (e.g., MRAP vehicle, HMEE, tanks).
  • Experience with aircraft, aerospace, or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE).
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on heavy equipment.
  • Education in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.

Pay

Hourly rate: $32–$35/hr, depending on experience and location. Potential for overtime varies by experience and location.
