About the Role
Join a team of 45+ service centers and a broad network of mobile technicians providing on-demand technical support, direct parts, and engineering for Altec equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
- Utilize technical support resources (e.g., operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, HowFactory) for troubleshooting, determining procedures, and identifying parts needed for repair.
- Perform Unit Condition Inspections and Reports.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
- Perform all tasks in alignment with Altec Safety practices and procedures.
- Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships.
- Provide accurate and sufficient information on all required documents.
- Demonstrate Altec Company Values.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to move objects and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- High level of dexterity.
- Ability to provide basic tools per the Altec tool policy.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive motor vehicles.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Commitment to advocating safety in all tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction, mining, or farm equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, dozers, tractors).
- Military heavy equipment experience (e.g., MRAP vehicle, HMEE, tanks).
- Experience with aircraft, aerospace, or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE).
- Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on heavy equipment.
- Education in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.
Pay
Hourly rate: $32–$35/hr, depending on experience and location. Potential for overtime varies by experience and location.
