Equine Veterinary Technician

About the role

The hospital is seeking an Equine Veterinary Technician to assist clinicians with exams, procedures, and surgery. The technician will work closely with veterinarians and technicians to ensure all patients receive proper care and treatment.

• Assist clinicians with exams, procedures, and surgery
• Work closely with veterinarians and technicians to ensure all patients receive proper care and treatment
• Must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task
• Will have an upbeat, friendly, and professional attitude
• Be compassionate/caring
• Can work individually, as well as on a team
• Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency, and working harmoniously with team mates is required
• Prior experience preferred

Requirements

• Must be willing to work flexible hours
• Regular on-site presence as an essential function of the role
• Due to the nature of veterinary hospital operations, in-person attendance is necessary to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff

Qualifications

• Current state licensure in good standing for Veterinary Technician roles

Skills

• Handling horses - restraining, jogging, lunging, bandaging
• Processing bloodwork and labs
• Documenting records of patient care and preparing client invoices
• Maintaining clean/sanitary treatment area
• Autoclaving and instrument care
• Cleaning/restock ambulatory vehicles
