Accountabilities

  • Lead the development, optimization, and support of advanced healthcare reporting solutions.
  • Analyze business and operational needs to determine the most appropriate reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Create custom metrics, SQL-based reports, and analytics solutions that support clinical, financial, and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with healthcare stakeholders, leadership, physicians, and end users to gather requirements, define specifications, validate outputs, and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic reporting capabilities, helping teams maximize the value of analytics tools and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Provide production-level support, troubleshoot reporting issues, monitor requests, and ensure timely resolution according to service expectations.
  • Collaborate with Epic application teams to manage reporting access, security templates, and user permissions.
  • Establish reporting standards, best practices, documentation, and quality controls while reviewing solutions for consistency and accuracy.
  • Mentor junior analysts by providing technical guidance, coaching, and support in functional and reporting-related areas.
  • Manage multiple reporting initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing requests and coordinating delivery timelines with stakeholders.
  • Retire legacy reporting assets and transition solutions to newer technologies.
  • Support modernization initiatives by retiring legacy reporting assets and transitioning solutions to newer technologies.

Requirements

  • Experienced healthcare analytics professional with advanced Epic reporting expertise and strong business intelligence capabilities.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with business intelligence, analytics, and reporting solutions.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience developing Epic Reporting Workbench reports and Radar dashboards.
  • Required Epic certifications or accreditations, including Epic Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Administration, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, and an additional clinical or access data model certification/accreditation within required timelines.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries against large datasets.
  • Experience with data warehouse concepts, enterprise data management practices, and analytics strategy.
  • Knowledge of Epic Cogito reporting tools, Qlik Sense, Slicer Dicer, Universes, Cubes, and related healthcare analytics platforms.
  • Experience gathering requirements, defining data specifications, designing solutions, and validating reporting outputs with business users.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare, hospital, and ambulatory workflows, terminology, and industry requirements.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements such as HIPAA, DNV, and MIPS.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation, orders databases, workflows, master files, category lists, synonyms, and preference lists is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and lead complex projects from initiation through completion.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and commitment to customer-focused service.
