Epic Product Operations & Strategy
About Abridge
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform is purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients. Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems. We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
The Role
Abridge is growing rapidly, and Epic is the backbone of how our clinical AI reaches health systems, which makes our Epic integration one of the highest-leverage and challenging problems in the company today. Your time will be split between execution (raising the bar on quality + speed across our Epic integrations and build guides, driving thorny Epic issues to resolution, keeping teams shipping with speed) and forward-looking strategy (helping product and engineering leadership see around corners on Epic's next layer of complexity).
- Your time will be split between execution and strategy.
- Own the Epic integration problems end-to-end across multiple product and workflow surfaces.
- Raise the bar on build guide quality and consistency across our full customer base.
- Build the process to surface Epic constraints and risks during discovery, so teams aren't finding them for the first time mid-implementation.
- Ramp up on the thorniest Epic questions, drive them to clear recommendations, and implement end-to-end.
- Shift Abridge from reactive execution to proactive planning across all Epic touchpoints (development, testing, integration, and data platform investment).
- Get ahead of the next wave of Epic complexity as Abridge expands beyond notes into more care setting and broader clinical workflows with more sophisticated data needs and Epic touchpoints.
- Builder velocity and AI enablement: Shape internal tools such as an Epic "twin" that lets teams test and iterate without waiting on live Epic environments; Codify Abridge's accumulated Epic knowledge into AI agents that teams can query directly, replacing tribal knowledge and one-off Slack answers; Build the internal tooling and workflows needed to keep pace as Epic's surface area and our customer count both grow.
What You’ll Do
Below is a representative sample of current priorities. They may shift quarter to quarter as the team scales.
- Execution and process design:
- Own the Epic integration problems end-to-end across multiple product and workflow surfaces.
- Identify the right APIs and integration patterns, particularly when Epic’s documented paths fall short.
- Build the process to surface Epic constraints and risks during discovery, so teams aren't finding them for the first time mid-implementation.
- Shape internal tools such as an Epic "twin" that lets teams test and iterate without waiting on live Epic environments.
- Codify Abridge's accumulated Epic knowledge into AI agents that teams can query directly, replacing tribal knowledge and one-off Slack answers.
- Build the internal tooling and workflows needed to keep pace as Epic's surface area and our customer count both grow.
- Strategy and forward planning:
- Ramp up on the thorniest Epic questions, drive them to clear recommendations, and implement end-to-end.
- Shift Abridge from reactive execution to proactive planning across all Epic touchpoints (development, testing, integration, and data platform investment).
- Get ahead of the next wave of Epic complexity as Abridge expands beyond notes into more care setting and broader clinical workflows with more sophisticated data needs and Epic touchpoints.
What You'll Bring
- Deep Epic expertise: 5+ years of at Epic and 2+ years at healthcare tech vendors integrating into Epic. Real-world understanding of Epic integration patterns, customer-to-customer variation, and implementation pitfalls. Comfortable navigating both the technical and operational realities of Epic environments.
- Strategic and hands-on: Equally comfortable operating at quarterly-planning altitude and getting into the technical weeds. Naturally steps into undefined problem spaces and pushes issues through to resolution with full ownership.
- Builder with greenfield mindset: Creates process where none exists and brings order to ambiguous, cross-team problems. Builds systems and playbooks that prevent teams from repeating the same mistakes.
- High EQ and cross-functional influence: Builds trust and credibility with PM, engineering, implementation, commercial, and customers.
- You use AI tools every day, at work and on the side. You try new tools the week they launch and you build systems yourself (scripts, agents, workflows).
