This is a regular full-time, remote position (80 hours every two weeks, day shift). Due to labor law regulations and business requirements, candidates residing in certain states may not be eligible for remote work. Alternatively, candidates may work onsite at our Yuma, AZ location.

Pay

Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range is one component of the total rewards/compensation package.

  • Minimum: $95,439.68
  • Mid: $119,299.59
  • Maximum: $143,159.51

About the role

The Epic Analyst is responsible for providing analysis, build, implementation, support, maintenance, development, and coordination of activities for assigned applications. Acts as a liaison between vendors, teams, customers, and technical staff. Should be knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and operations in a healthcare setting. Participates in regular day-to-day communication with other project teams and works with vendors and community-based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the application build fits the organization’s and community integration needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis / Build:
    • Participate in analysis, build, testing, documentation, and implementation of optimization or projects related to informatics.
    • Interact, plan, and schedule activities with customers to determine information needs and objectives.
    • Assess the current state of workflows and application configurations.
    • Identify and document end user needs and requirements.
    • Build and test application software to meet identified needs and requirements.
    • Ensure a consistent approach is followed throughout the project.
  • Project Plan / Lead:
    • Develop, maintain, and adhere to project plans and cost constraints.
    • Liaison and effectively interact within and across departments, technical staff, and/or vendors in defining and meeting project objectives.
    • Ensure project timelines are realistic and within allocated time.
    • Define and adhere to cost and resource constraints.
    • Monitor and report progress via ongoing maintenance of the Project Plan.
    • Provide formal status reports as appropriate.
    • Escalate and communicate issues or topics for advisement as needed.
  • Maintenance:
    • Ensure timely completion of routine maintenance for assigned applications.
    • Coordinate application and interface maintenance development, troubleshooting, and testing activities between teams, departments, and/or vendors.
    • Facilitate enhancement requests.
    • Serve as the day-to-day contact for vendors for ongoing maintenance/outage of assigned applications.
  • Change Control / Testing:
    • Ensure smooth transition from build to test to production environments.
    • Follow change control policies and procedures (YRMCCare changes 1st & 3rd Wednesday or Infor changes 2nd & 4th Thursday).
    • Utilize, create, update, and/or provide test scripts for software build and workflow changes.
    • Provide and maintain documentation of workflow and software changes.
    • Communicate upcoming workflow and software changes to all affected application analysts and testing personnel.
    • Follow up on issues through to resolution in test or live environments.
  • Training:
    • Ensure workflow and software changes are clearly communicated with Trainers and/or end users.
    • Confirm production and master training environment content is consistent.
    • Collaborate with Trainers to utilize, create, update, and/or provide Tips & Tricks documents or other methods to communicate changes to end users.
    • Communicate upcoming workflow changes within application or area of expertise via EHR news, standard work creation and maintenance, principal trainers, and uploading tip sheets to intranet.
  • Problem Solving / Support:
    • Demonstrate knowledge, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Perform work under regular supervision or with specific procedures and guidelines.
    • Handle varied duties requiring independent action and judgment involving commonly encountered and unusual problems.
    • Consult supervisor for clarification on policies.
    • Adhere to defined Issue Management procedures.
    • Document, track, and follow up on all reported incidents.
    • Facilitate issue resolution by working with end users and coordinating with vendors.
    • Evaluate and submit enhancement and system change requests.
    • Offer creative solutions.
    • Complete all assigned tickets per QLIK statistics/Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics: over 92% of all Incidents completed in under 9 days and over 92% of Service Desk Requests completed in under 50 days.
    • Monitor, triage, and distribute team-assigned tickets.
  • Reporting / Dashboards / Data Extract and Exchange:
    • Interact with customers at all levels within the organization to determine reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange needs and objectives.
    • Plan and schedule reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange activities in collaboration with internal and external customers.
    • Act as liaison within and across departments in defining and meeting reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange objectives.
    • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extracts for assigned applications.
    • Ensure a consistent approach is followed in report writing, dashboard development, and data extract/exchange processes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Epic Certification required in Willow.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting with EHR systems in an analytical or implementation role.
