About the role
Indiana University Health is seeking an Epic Analyst-Pharmacy Informatics II to bridge the gap between technical workflows and pharmacy operations, ensuring that Epic solutions meet clinical, operational, and regulatory standards for medication management.
Responsibilities
- Configure and optimize Epic’s Willow and Beacon modules, ensuring alignment with pharmacy workflows and clinical requirements.
- Provide daily support for pharmacy users, including troubleshooting issues and resolving Epic-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain system updates and perform testing related to pharmacy-specific Epic upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and IT staff to understand workflow requirements and ensure that Epic configurations meet clinical needs.
- Collaborate with the broader Epic team to ensure pharmacy informatics systems are integrated smoothly with other clinical modules.
- Aid in the development and maintenance of clinical decision support (CDS) tools such as medication alerts, order sets, and best practice advisories (BPAs) in the Epic system.
- Ensure CDS tools are optimized to reduce alert fatigue while improving medication safety and operational efficiency.
- Participate in system testing for new Epic functionalities, updates, and integrations. Validate changes and upgrades in the system to ensure proper functioning of pharmacy-related modules, while preventing negative impacts on clinical workflows.
- Develop and deliver training programs for pharmacy staff on Epic Willow functionality and updates. Create and maintain documentation for system processes, configurations, and training materials.
- Utilize Epic’s reporting tools (e.g., Clarity) to generate reports on medication usage, compliance, and system performance. Analyze data and provide insights to support pharmacy informatics initiatives and decision-making processes.
- Ensure Epic configurations meet all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including FDA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards. Assist in audits and assessments to ensure compliance in pharmacy operations.
Requirements
- Epic certification in relevant pharmacy modules (Willow) is HIGHLY preferred.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- 3-5 years’ experience.
- Active Indiana Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting is required, with knowledge of medication workflows and pharmacy operations.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, especially Epic, and knowledge of medication management systems, clinical decision support tools, and pharmacy workflows.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, clinical staff, and pharmacy professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical needs into technical requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address system issues and workflow inefficiencies.
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital pharmacy environment is strongly preferred.
- Certification in Pharmacy Informatics (BCPIP) or relevant certifications preferred.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications

Pay
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually.
Schedule
This role is a full-time, hybrid role with onsite requirements 2-3 days per week located in Indianapolis, IN.
