Summary Of Position

Under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Manager, the Epic Ambulatory Super User is accountable for ensuring the goals set for the clinical informatics department are met. This role works closely with clinicians, physicians, dentists, administrative staff, and IT staff to integrate quality initiatives and technology into the patient care process. The Epic Ambulatory Super User supports the analysis, evaluation, development, implementation, updating, and integrity of quality projects and clinical systems. They also coordinate user education for clinical software.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Read and understand the English language
  • Effective confidentiality of records and communication with all levels of personnel
  • Experience in an outpatient provider office setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to work with changing priorities
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority
  • Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to function as part of a team
  • Must possess initiative
  • Basic medical terminology required (can be obtained through formal classes or work experience)

Additional Skills Required

  • Knowledge of outpatient clinic operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years in an outpatient provider office setting or related experience

Key Responsibilities (10-Core)

  • Supports basic Epic functions in the EMR
  • Manages accounts associated with clinical software
  • Manages Epic Work queues
  • Trains on various software features (new functionality and basic use and navigation)
  • Assists IT department in supporting clinical users when appropriate
  • Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice, organizational policy, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice
  • Able to manage OCHIN JIRA’s & Kintegra tickets
  • Assists with EPCS & verification process
  • Other duties as assigned
